Quote from the book Far Tortuga, by Peter Matthiessen
Half Man Half Boat
Born in Seattle, Washington, Captain Robby Smith has spent his life on, around or
under the water. In doing so he has acquired a set of skills that are unique
and extensive. Seasoned, knowledgeable sailors speak of him as
"...a waterman's waterman".
He is fun loving and generous. His code of loyalty to other boaters is
entrenched and far-reaching.
Capt. Smith is a licensed Merchant Marine officer. He is called on to transport
yachts throughout the United States, the Caribbean and Mexico. Serious
students of sailing jump at the opportunity to crew, and gain knowledge from
him, as his reputation for delivering boats safely and on time precedes him.
For an interesting audio version of his "BIO" from Furled Sails listen to
pod casts # 120 and #121. As you see in the chronological list of pod casts,
Capt. Smith is deservingly in good company.
Capt. Smith has a unique teaching ability. He is patient, colorful, and concise.
Knowledge lends itself to self-suffiencenty on the water.
Self-suffiencenty lends itself to trouble free, safe and enjoyable boating.
We look forward to having you aboard Moonflower.
